In which I say Hello

Other than the LiveJournal I kept in college (which was regrettable), I have stayed away from blogging.

Am I too old to start? Can I start… now?

This year, I plan to turn 42. Indeed, I wrote a poem about turning 41 last fall, published first by the kind team at Hearth & Coffin.

And although I’m not a big Douglas Adams fan, my life is blessed with enough nerds to know 42 is the perfect number—the answer to all the mysteries in the universe! So, let’s agree now is the perfect time to start.

You’re never too old to embark on a new adventure, just like a dog is never too old to learn a new trick.

Wait. That’s now how that goes. And my dog is too old to learn new tricks. My daughter said she wanted a dog last Christmas. I said, “We have a dog.” She said, “No, a fun one.”

Anyway, welcome to this little blog.

I will write about writerly things and writerly news. If you are following along with me in my writerly life, thank you. Writing can be lonely. I am happy to have friends for the journey!
